LEO Lager: The Easy Drinking Thai Lager Built for Heat, Spice and Long Afternoons
LEO was launched by Boon Rawd Brewery in 1999, the same house behind Singha, and it took over Thailand fast. Named for the snow leopard on its label, it was brewed for the way people actually drink in Bangkok heat: cold, over ice, alongside food that fights back. Today it is one of the best selling beers in Thailand and the bottle you see on nearly every table from street stalls to island beach bars.
In the glass it is a pale golden lager with a soft malt backbone and just enough hop bitterness to stay crisp. At 5% ABV it is sessionable without being thin, and the 330 mL bottle format keeps every pour ice cold to the last sip. If you love Singha but want something rounder and a touch smoother, this is the one.
